Aang Week

Rules & Faq
HOW DO I JOIN AANG WEEK?
However you create, there’s a place for you here! Write a fic, draw something, make an edit, put together a playlist, drop a headcanon, create a moodboard, write meta, make a comic — whatever lets you celebrate Aang💛Post your work during Aang Week, October 12–19, 2026, and make sure to use the official Aang Week tags and/or tag the event account so we can find your post and share it.Feel free to add your work to the Aang Week 2026 AO3 Collection as well! You don’t have to participate every day either. One prompt, three prompts, all eight days — it’s completely up to you.
WHAT CAN I CREATE?
Pretty much anything made with love for Aang!Fanfiction, fanart, edits, gifsets, comics, poetry, playlists, moodboards, headcanons, meta, crafts and other fan creations are all welcome.Different interpretations of Aang are welcome too. Canon Aang, older Aang, AU Aang, silly Aang, Avatar Aang, dad Aang, chaotic twelve-year-old Aang — give us your Aang. The main rule is simple: Aang should be at the heart of the work.
WHAT ISN’T ALLOWED?
We want Aang Week to celebrate fan creativity, so AI-generated submissions will not be accepted.Works created to deliberately spread hateful, discriminatory or harassing content are also not welcome. Please also respect other creators. Don’t repost, trace, heavily copy or use someone else’s work without permission and proper credit.
ARE NSFW OR MATURE WORKS ALLOWED?
YES, with some important boundaries.Any sexual or explicitly adult content must feature adult versions of the characters involved, aged 18 or older, and it must be tagged appropriately. If you’re sharing mature work somewhere it could appear publicly (twitter), please use suitable warnings and keep previews safe for general audiences.
CAN OTHER CHARACTERS OR SHIPS BE INCLUDED?
Of course!Aang has relationships with people from every corner of his life, and we absolutely want creators to explore them. Romantic ships, friendships, family relationships, Team Avatar, the Air Nomads and other characters are all welcome. The event itself is Aang Week, though, so AANG SHOULD remain an important focus of the piece instead of feeling like a background character in someone else’s story.
HOW DO THE DAILY PROMPTS WORK?
Each day of Aang Week has its own prompts to give you somewhere to start. You can use one prompt, combine all 3, interpret them literally, twist them into something completely unexpected, or simply let one spark an idea and run with it.There is no “correct” interpretation. The prompts are there to inspire you, not box you in.
DO I HAVE TO COMPLETE SOMETHING FOR EVERY DAY?
Nope!Join for whichever days inspire you. Post once. Post eight times. Combine multiple days into one work. Start something ambitious and realize halfway through that Aang has taken control of the plot.It all counts✨
CAN I SHARE WIPs?
Please do!Sketches, snippets, previews, progress shots and little teasers leading up to Aang Week are welcome.Tag the Aang Week account when you share them so we can help cheer you on and get everyone excited for the event.Finished or unfinished, we love seeing what people are making.
WHAT IF MY POST DOESN’T GET SHARED?
Sometimes tags misbehave. Sometimes notifications vanish into the Spirit World. If your Aang Week post hasn’t been shared by the event account after about 24 hours, feel free to send us the link or tag us again, or feel free to dm us on twitter or send an ask on tumblr. Please don’t worry about being annoying. We would much rather have you point us toward something we missed than have your work disappear unnoticed.
WHAT IF I’M LATE?
Then you’re late. Come in anyway💛Creativity doesn’t always cooperate with calendars, and we don’t want people rushing work they care about just to hit a date.Late Aang Week submissions are welcome! When your piece is ready, use the event tags and tag the account so we can find it.Finished in October? Great. November? Still great. A suspiciously long time later because the fic became 40,000 words? We understand.
WHAT IF I DON’T MAKE FANWORK?
You can still be a huge part of Aang Week!Reblog and retweet people’s creations. Leave comments. Send artists nice tags. Tell writers which line destroyed you emotionally. Share the prompt list. Recommend works you enjoyed. Encourage someone who is still wrestling with their WIP.Fandom events work because people create and engage. You don’t need to make something yourself to help make the week feel alive.
THE MOST IMPORTANT RULE
Have fun. Be kind. Celebrate Aang. This week is for appreciating all the things that make him Aang — the Avatar, the Air Nomad, the friend, the kid, the husband and father he grows into, the survivor, the goofball, the peacemaker, and everything in between.Take the prompts wherever your imagination wants to go.Aang Week is about giving our favorite little airbender the spotlight. 💨🧡💛Kindly DM us directly on twitter or send an ask on tumblr if you have any more questions✨
